UGANDAN opposition leader Bobi Wine has been freed from house arrest for the first time since long-serving president Yoweri Museveni retained power in a January 14 election.

The former pop star yesterday met officials from his National Unity Platform party and gave a press conference at home after security troops finally backed off, a day after a High Court judge ordered them to do so.
